Yoga - Lilina Licata

Yoga has been part of my life for 20 years, but in the last five years my practice took a different direction. With an insatiable urge to learn more about all the other elements of yoga and constantly marvelling at the way ancient yoga teaching (sutras) translate into our lives today, my enquiry has led to the completion of a 300 hour teacher training programme. (BWY)

Over the years I have been very fortunate to have had some wonderful teachers, and feel humbled to now find myself on the mat at the front of a room sharing what I have learnt with other yogis where ever they may be on their journey.

I approach each class with the same mindset and that is that we all honour how we feel in the moment, practicing safely and instinctively. That is why, regardless of experience, the classes are not labelled according to ability instead, I encourage taking ownership of your practice and really tuning into the moment. After all, “it is a yoga practice, not yoga perfect.”

Knowing how many yoga teachers and studios there are out there, I teach each lesson feeling grateful and in awe of the wonderful people who choose to share their yoga journey with me.

Finding your teacher is part of your journey. An open mind and open heart create a compassionate and nurturing space to practice in.
